Dee Henderson

Dee Henderson is the author of fourteen best-selling novels including the acclaimed O’Malley series and the Uncommon Heroes series. As a leader in the inspirational romantic suspense category, her books have won or been nominated for several prestigious industry awards including the RWA’s RITA Award, the Christy Award, the ECPA Gold Medallion, the Holt Medallion, the National Readers’ Choice Award, and the Golden Quill.

How did she get her start?

Dee says, “I write stories because it was what I considered fun back when I was five or six and could hold a crayon. That initial enthusiasm hasn’t abated. I write stories because I love to write stories. There’s no need for anyone to prompt me to do this.”

In all of her best-selling books Dee carries the romantic suspense novel to a new level by revealing her characters’ faith–or lack of it.

She explains, “My characters are no different than real people. Some days you don’t think much about God, other times you do. I need my characters to be living, breathing, three-dimensional characters, so I talk about anything that is relevant to them: their families, their friends, their jobs, what has happened in their past, and what role God plays in their lives.”

Dee is a lifelong resident of Illinois.
