Frank Peretti
Frank Peretti has been called “the Christian Stephen King.” I can understand why.
I love his unique subject matter and the suspense I find in his stories. He does have a consistent Christian message throughout his books–which is the biggest reason I like reading his novels. This Present Darkness is one of my all-time favorite books.
Frank Peretti was born in Canada on January 13, 1951. He and his family moved to Seattle, Washington when he was very young. He became a banjo player with a local bluegrass group after he graduated from high school, and he even had a small Christian music ministry. Frank still enjoys music and plays the banjo as one of his favorite pastimes.
He attended UCLA where he studied screenwriting, English and Film. He helped his dad in a small Pentecostal church and then left to work in construction. He was able to leave that job when This Present Darkness was published.
He married his wife Barbara Jean in 1972 and they now live in northern Idaho. Bicycling, piloting, and carpentry are among the many hobbies he enjoys.
