Traci DePree

TraciDePree Traci DePreeTraci grew up in a small town in Wisconsin. Her grandparents on both sides were farmers so she has wonderful memories of times spent on the farm, playing in the hayloft, looking for wild asparagus in the ditches.

There was a connection to her heritage and the land that has stayed with her to this day and she says the character Peter Morgan in A Can of Peas shares that same yearning to connect to those things.

After graduating from high school, she attended Bethany College of Missions in Bloomington, Minnesota, where she met her husband. After they graduated they went to work at a Christian bookstore in the U.S. Virgin Islands where Traci was the book buyer. She loved that job, seeing the wonderful variety of books out there in the Christian market.

When they moved back to Minnesota two years later Traci got a job at Bethany House Publishers. She worked there for about eight years moving up the ranks to fiction editor. Then Traci and her husband decided to move to the country. She began to do freelance editing from her home in Le Sueur, Minnesota.

Traci has four daughters ranging in age from fourteen years to one. She also has two steers, eight sheep, four cats, two dogs and a rabbit.
