Review:

The Whole Truth by James Scott BellI thoroughly enjoy Christian fiction and when you can have mystery and a little suspense thrown in it really makes for good reading. The Whole Truth is a book like that.

As Steve, along with a young woman who is basically inexperienced in her chosen profession of law, seek to get to the bottom of the identity of Johnny LaSalle, a man in prison that Steve is representing. He encounters more information than he bargains for but he desperately needs work and becomes determined to find the truth behind his client.

Steve struggles daily with the fact that his older brother had been kidnapped from their bedroom when they were young children. He has carried the guilt of what happened and his silence on the matter for many years. His Faith in God is non-existent as a result of the kidnapping and the effects it had on his family. However, he is constantly being reminded of God even though he resists any attempt to change.

The web of deceit that Steve encounters is what really kept me reading. I also was captured by the way he has to deal with his client, Johnny LaSalle, and LaSalle’s notorious family. It held my interest until the end and I believe you will enjoy it as much as I did.
