The Drifter

SYNOPSIS:

Charity Burk, a recent Civil War widow, will lose her Kansas homestead unless she finds a man to plow and fence the tough prairie sod. When she discovers Beau Claxton–mauled by a ravenous wolf–she believes he’s the answer to her prayers. She drags the dying man to her cabin, cleanses his wounds, and stitches him up–convinced that marrying him is God’s will. But does this unconscious stranger have room in his heart for God or for her?

REVIEW:

TheDrifter The DrifterLori Copeland has become one of my favorite authors because of her wonderful humor as well as her delightful love stories.  The Drifter is the second in a series of three books entitled Men of the Saddle.  It is a story of the faith and determination of Charity Burk to keep the land she and her late husband have made claim to when they came to Kansas.  She realized the harsh winters and the much needed work would require more than what she could do alone.  She needed a husband!

Beau Claxton became her choice when she found him injured and near death one day close to her home.  Beau and Charity’s relationship goes from one extreme to another in this clever and touching story as they discover each other’s past and the grief each one has had to endure.

The Drifter is a story of faith, love and victory.  It is also laced with the humor that Lori Copeland has throughout her stories and is what I like about her books.

I hope you keep reading and will check out Lori Copeland’s books.
