Reviews of Lori Copeland Books

The Maverick

SYNOPSIS:

The Maverick is the third novel in the Men of the Saddle series by Lori Copeland.

Susanne McCord is a spoiled young woman who will do whatever it takes to get her way.  Six years ago, she tricked Cass Claxton into marrying her in a shotgun wedding. They haven’t seen each other since that day, but when they cross paths again, everything has changed.

Susanne has changed her ways — at least in some respect — and she needs Cass to help her transport nine orphans across the country to Missouri by covered wagon. They get on each other’s nerves as they meet challenges and struggles on the way. What Susanne doesn’t count on is how her life changes along the way nor when she gets to Missouri and lives with her aunt, who runs an orphanage.

She also doesn’t count on the fact that Cass Claxton will become a big and important part of her new life because, through their journey together, Susanne and Cass begin to fall in love.

TheMaverick The MaverickREVIEW:

I love to read stories of how God moves in the lives of people and how He can change a life. The Maverick is such a book. The character Susanne McCord is a very lively and spirited young woman.  Cass Claxton wants nothing to do with her, yet she continues to be in his life.

The story of their long journey across the hazardous territory back to Kansas is a loving, humorous, and exciting one to say the least.  They both learn tolerance, team work and forgiveness in the long weeks it takes to make the trip.

Lori Copeland always has humor in her stories and this one is no exception.  The Maverick is a delightful, romantic western novel that I think you will enjoy!
